"First of all let me thank you personally for being so easy to work with and informative during the building of my Bee Bass. The e-mails and photos of the progress during the construction were interesting and a wonderful way of conducting business. I feel that I was involved in the process completely throughout the build. The finished product is exquisite. The construction is second to none, all the fits are flush and tight, the finish on all the woods are beautiful, and the hand built craftsmanship is painstakingly perfect. The tone of the bass is great. Its 2 band EQ works great with one band being especially punchy with good growl, producing excellent slap tone. The other band produces a more warm, low mid tone much better suited for finger style players like myself. The ergos of the guitar are very comfortable, not quite like any I've played before. It feels compact and light and balances very nicely. Bottom line is I'm very happy with my decision to have you build me a Bee Bass, you never know, I might have you build me a Queenbee in the future. Thanks for your help and your commitment to excellence with my purchase.

                                Sincerely,

Fred,
There is still smoke over Spotswood NJ. That is where I played last night and took my bass out live for the first time. It is also the first time I played it through my 400w hartke and four 10 cab. I haven't even begun to explore any tone and such, but I just found one that spoke to me and played. The piano player and the percussionist were buggin. I rolled down the B on some song and the guitar player looked at me, frowned and said whooooooeeeee! out loud.
The whole band sounded better than ever and more locked. Talk about cutting through the mix? Damn! Every musician in attendance came up to me to tell me how awesome my sound was. A couple of bass players there had faces lit up like they just saw a UFO. And me, the instrument was talking back to me and propelling me to the next note. I have to get some new techniques to free up some new ideas just to keep up with the bass. I was burning, don't get me wrong, but a couple of times the bass said to me "Is that all you got cause I ain't even working hard," (LOL) Anyway, I will be sending you a review in a couple of months when I have explored more and it is broken in a little. Oh and as for looks, people can't believe their eyes. A beautiful job all around.

A few observations about the fretless...
it is *AWESOME*!! it is the most natural playing fretless I have *ever* played. its tone is singing and growly with such glorious balance across the whole frequency spectrum that it just took my breath. the neck is unbelievable. and it is *SO* light...!

I just wanted to take a minute to publicly thank Fred for crafting a stellar instrument! This fretless truly surpasses any hopes or expectations I might have had and is just a joy to play. Its tone is *unreal*. While there have not been too many photo ops with
the bass, it's been recorded a bunch and I look forward to much more.

Every time it comes out of the case someone comments on its looks. After every performance people ask what effect I'm using to get the tone I have. I make a point of letting them know that Fred made the bass and that there are no effects.
yep, I'm a happy bassist!

from the singing low end,

Stew
