A Few Things Bee Basses Don't Have and Why

A FEW THINGS BEE BASSES DON’T HAVE AND WHY

THICK, SPRAYED-ON FINISHES
Although there are several reasons that we avoid spraying on finishes, the single biggest one is reparability. Lacquer can look great, but when you damage the finish you must either live with the damage or take it to a professional for repair. Hand rubbed oil finishes are very easy to repair; simply sand out the damage with progressively finer sandpapers, then rub in several coats of new finish. That's it! Plus, in our opinion, hand rubbed oil feels better, sounds better and when properly applied to a perfectly sanded surface, is as beautiful as a sprayed finish.

FINGERBOARD DOTS
We try to avoid using big, ugly position marking dots on the faces of our fingerboards. We can place small reference dots on fretless boards at the customer's request, but part of the "look" of a
BEE BASS is a clean, uncluttered fingerboard. Besides, having position markers on the face of your fingerboard is essentially useless unless you play hunched over, looking at the front of your neck. We always install side position markers on our basses since they are the most functional.

HUGE, ELABORATE INLAYS OF DRAGONS, EAGLES, ETC.
BEE BASSES are not "works of art" in that sense. They are tools of the absolute highest quality, built to surpass what you've come to expect from an instrument. There are plenty of companies and builders who specialize in building "Museum Quality Showpieces." We choose to design and fabricate basses that are meant for a lifetime of making music.

Ever forget to bring your strap to a gig and have to borrow one?
